The conference will gather community media professionals and advocates from the Western region – Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada and New Mexico and from the Northwest region – Oregon, Washington Idaho, plus other states throughout the West. Attendees seek ideas and solutions to the challenges of operating and producing Public, Educational and Government (PEG) access television. At these low rates we expect to see more volunteers, board members, and additional PEG staff.
Saturday will feature Helen Soule, ACM E.D. as our keynote speaker, Sue Buske with State and Federal public policy updates, workshops on community outreach, and a special workshop on establishing "Neighborhood News Bureaus" in your community with Laurie Cirivello from "The Rapidian (therapidian.org). Plus we’ll welcome ACM leaders from around the nation.
The WAVE Awards will be held in the SNCAT huge, new, glass-walled TV studio. Seeing the SNCAT facility is worth the trip. WAVE ONLY tickets are $10 but heck for another $15 come and spend the whole day!
Thank you for your continuing support of the Alliance for Community Media.
This year’s conference has been revised to a one day event for only $25 and will take at the new SNCAT studios in the Meadowood Mall. Yes, PEG access in a shopping mall - Picture a TV Studio where all walls, inside and out, are 20' high, floor to ceiling glass.
